The Jackson Jills, the oldest all-femme a cappella group at Tufts University (founded in 1963), present their spring show in the multipurpose room ta Sophia Gordon Hall. Free admission; no tickets required. The Jills also will be performing at CACHE's Tea, Treats and Art fundraiser at Arts Collaborative Medford on Saturday, May 10.    

Eamonn Sheehan kicks off this week's live music at Mrs. Murphy's Pub, presenting a lively performance of authentic tunes from the Emerald Isle. The week's lineup also includes Aiden Schnell at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30; Alyssa Barker at 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 1; Fiddle Pete at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 2; Sammy Wetstein at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 3; and Hope Chernesky at noon on Sunday, May 4.

The Tufts Arab Music Ensemble presents a selection of instrumental and vocal music representative of a wide range of genres within the Arab world. Naseem Alatrash, director. Free to the public with no tickets required; also viewable via Tufts Music Live Streaming.  

Aiden Schnell, a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, banjo, mandolin) in the bluegrass and progressive acoustic music genres, returns to Mrs. Murphy's Pub. The Berklee College of Music graduate also instructs at Winchester Community Music School.  

The BellRays, an independent punk, rock and soul band from Riverside, California, takes the stage at Deep Cuts. Also performing: Garage rock band Muck and the Mires, and punk rockers The Downhauls, both from Boston. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 show day through Dice.    

Medford Brewing Company presents another edition of "Melodies On Tap," its first Thursday of the month open mic night hosted by Zion Rodman and Christian Colegrove.
