Matt & Shannon Heaton Virtual Guided Session

Medford musicians Matt and Shannon Heaton host their monthly third Saturday Virtual Guided Session. Tune learners, second instrument players, or anyone who enjoys traditional Irish music are welcome for moderately paced Irish tunes — jigs, reels and more — upbeat chat, and connection with other trad music lovers. Resources/tunes lists can be found on Shannon’s website. Join the global community in the live session via YouTube. Cost is free, but virtual tip jars are available via PayPal or through Venmo at ShannonHeatonMusic.

The closing of Johnny D's Uptown in Somerville left a big hole that needed to be filled: a place for blues musicians to jam on Sundays and support one another. That is the spirit The Porch fosters with its People's Jam. Bass amp and two guitar amps provided, along with DIs, vocal mics and horn mics. Just come in and sign up. Each group of jammers plays three songs and no one repeats until all players have had a turn.…
