DESCRIPTION:Today is the final day to view the exhibition “I’ll Be Your Mirror\,” five works by Boston-based artist Annette Lemieux\, in the Tisch Library at Tufts University. Lemieux’s body of work is inspired by advertisements\, popular music and art history; she navigates the image in the age of mass media\, traversing both mainstream and fringe. “I’ll Be Your Mirror” references Lemieux’s immersion in popular culture\, taking its name from a 1967 song by The Velvet Underground. Lemieux holds a mirror up to our reality\, using familiar imagery to guide viewers toward their own discoveries and recollections — reflecting what we are. Combining silkscreens\, wall sculpture and photography\, these works explore religion\, feminism\, war and climate change — all issues of our time. \n

DESCRIPTION:As Tufts University prepares to inaugurate its 14th president\, Sunil Kumar\, the Tisch Library presents the exhibit\, “The Charge and the Challenge: Tufts Presidents from Ballou to Kumar.” Drawn from the collections of the Tufts Archival Research Center\, it offers a glimpse of all the Tufts presidents and the highlights of their tenures. Following President Kumar’s inauguration ceremony\, archivists will be on hand to discuss exhibit highlights and present a selection of presidential artifacts from the Tufts Charter to Jumbo’s Tail. All are welcome to drop in any time between 4 and 6 p.m. at the Tisch Library main entrance and the Dranetz Tower. \n
