DESCRIPTION:The Medford Recreation Department introduces a new program\, Cinema Kidz\, and an eight-week course on music video production for kids in grades 1 to 4. Participants will become art directors\, cinematographers\, movie stars and dancers as they plan\, storyboard\, film\, and finally edit their very own music video. Children will utilize professional filmmaking equipment\, and dive into art direction as they create costumes and props for the video. Students will work with a choreographer to plan visuals and make up their very own moves. Participants will learn how to create unique moods as they experiment with using lights\, gels\, various camera lenses\, and more. Children also have the opportunity to create an original song and/or lyrics. The class will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturdays from November 30 through January 18. DESCRIPTION:Comites Boston and the Consulate General of Italy in Boston are presenting an Italian Festival in conjunction with Festa della Repubblica Italiana\, the Italian National Day and Republic Day celebrated each June 2. The program will include opening ceremonies at 11 a.m. featuring a salute to the flag and the United States and Italian national anthems; an Italian performance by Medford Public Schools students at 2 p.m.; and a concert by tenor Alberto Profetta at 4 p.m. \nPlease note that due to the weather forecast\, the location of this event has been changed from the Condon Band Shell to the Medford Recreation Center/Gene Mack Gym\, on the lower level of the Chevalier Theatre building.
