SUMMARY:National Night Out
DESCRIPTION:For the third year in a row\, the Medford Police Department is joining thousands of police departments across the country in presenting National Night Out\, an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer\, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore\, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.\n\nAmong the night’s many activities will be performances by the Medford youth musical theater organization Spotlight Productions at 5:50 p.m. and by dancers from Jody’s School of Dance at 6:15 p.m.  There also will be face painting by students from the Medford Vocational-Technical High School’s cosmetology program\, and activities from the Medford Family Network. SUMMARY:NESBA Marching Band Competition
DESCRIPTION:The Medford High School Band Parent Organization is hosting a New England Scholastic Band Association (NESBA) marching band competition at Hormel Stadium. Twelve high school marching bands are registered to compete\, with the Medford Marching Band and Color Guard performing at 6 p.m. The complete lineup: Joseph Case (Swansea)\, 5 p.m.; Somerset-Berkley\, 6:15; Reading\, 5:30; Burlington\, 5:45; Medford\, 6; New Bedford\, 5:15; Mansfield\, 6:30; Oakmont-Overlook (Ashburnham)\, 6:45; Everett\, 7:30; Melrose\, 7:45; Wakefield\, 8; and Andover\, 8:15. In addition\, the Boston University Marching Band will perform at 8:30 p.m. \nAdmission\, as set by NESBA\, is $10 (cash only). All proceeds support the Medford High Marching Band.
