DESCRIPTION:Today’s Medford Farmers Market will feature live music by The New Grown-ups from 3 to 5 p.m.\, followed by Better Late from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The New Grown-up take a modern twist on American Roots music. They blend traditional folk\, pop\, country\, blues\, Celtic\, old time\, originals\, and bluegrass into a snafu of contemporary acoustic music. The Better Late trio (guitar\, upright bass and harmonica) plays original songs and covers from a wide variety of folk\, country\, and blues artists. \nAmong today’s 26 vendors will be artisans Sarah Beardslee of Beads by Beardslee\, Rita Ortolino-Dioguardi Collage Art\, Henna Inspired\, School of Rock\, and World by Mundo Face Paint. Torgerson has interest and expertise in world music\, as well as American jazz\, funk and blues\, with over 30 years of performing experience. He’ll be backed by local professional musicians on keyboard\, bass\, sax/flute\, and percussion. Bring a picnic or pick up dinner in Medford Square. DESCRIPTION:The City of Medford begins its free Condon Shell Summer Concert series with a performance by the Baker Thomas Band. BTB is fronted by Tom Bianchi\, who is a leader in the Boston music scene (he books the Burren Backroom as well as other venues). The band is fun\, upbeat\, and perfect for summer music! Bring a chair or blanket and a picnic\, or stop by the Medford Farmers Market to grab some food. Medford Brewing Company will be on hand operating a beer garden. \nOther concerts in the Thursday evening series will feature the Grammy-nominated Debo Ray on August 1\, the Cheryl Arena Band on August 29\, and Say Darling on September 12 (rescheduled from its original date of June 20 due to weather).
