SUMMARY:Nature Art Exploration for Kids
DESCRIPTION:The Medford Family Network introduces a Nature Art Exploration Series for children in kindergarten to age 8. Children will explore the outdoors in a half-mile loop and create a picture of their observations. All materials will be provided. Art may be messy\, so you might want to bring a towel or something to sit on. Families are requested to attend all three sessions of the series\, on October 16\, 23 and 30. Siblings welcome; no pets. Capacity is 10 participants. Register through the MFN registration web page. The location will be sent by email to registrants. \n

SUMMARY:MHS Rainbow Mosaic Installation
DESCRIPTION:The Medford community is invited to attend the installation of the first permanent public artwork outside Medford High School\, the “Over the Rainbow” mosaics that salute the MHS theme and celebration of diversity\, equity and inclusion. The 13 separate circular mosaics were designed and collaboratively created by Medford students\, families\, and friends — at least 120 mosaic makers in all\, from elementary school students to seniors! \nMeet outside the “Purple Door” to the Medford Family Network on the west side of the Medford High School complex. There will be rree water and granola bars\, and free gifts to all who attend. \nThe mosaic project was organized by director Marie Cassidy and the Medford Family Network\, artist Susan Altman and ArtsMedford\, and MHS art teacher Suzanne Fee. It was supported in part by the Medford Arts Council and the Arts Alive Medford Foundation. \n
