In addition to the traditional Annual Meeting\, there will be a special program celebrating the history of America and its 250th anniversary. \nThe meeting will begin with socializing and refreshments\, plus entertainment provided by fiddler\, Karen Burciaga and playwright\, Laura Duggan. Then the meeting will continue for a brief update on CACHE; the presentation of the Synergy Award to Celia Lee; some historical context by local historian\, Dee Morris; and a poem read by Medford Poet Laureate\, Max Heinegg. It’s been over eight years since the first Medford Arts & Culture Summit\, presented by the Medford Arts Council in November 2015\, and SO MUCH has happened to improve and broaden the arts and cultural offerings in the city since then — from a new library to a new arts center\, new or reactivated music venues\, and many new programs and organizations. \nThe 2024 Summit program will include a recap and celebration of the many accomplishments since the 2015 Summit; a panel discussion and Q&A with Medford arts and culture leaders; small-group breakouts of attendees followed by an open forum discussion on the current and future state of the arts in Medford; presentation of CACHE’s 2024 Synergy Award; and tours of the new community arts center and studios. \nLight refreshments and soft drinks will be served. Attendance is limited by the venue space and is first come\, first served\, so please reserve your seat through the event registration page.
