Medford musician Emily O’Brien continues her 2023 series of online music workshops with “Intro to Playing By Ear.” If you think playing by ear is a mysterious talent that you just weren’t born with, this class is for you. You’ll work on matching pitch, identifying the directions of melodies, finding notes on your instrument, and hearing patterns. You’ll also explore strategies that can help you continue improving on your own or with a buddy. Playing or singing in front of the group is optional. The course will meet on three consecutive Tuesdays: February 21 and 28, and March 7. Cost is $75 for the series. Register on O’Brien’s website.
