Chromos Collaborative Orchestra

Saturday, March 10, 2018 @ 8:00 pm

Free

First Bapstist Church of Medford welcomes the Chromos Collaborative Orchesta in concert, featuring Sarah Joyce Cooper, soprano, and Nicolas Sterner, Collaborative Director and Conductor. On the program will be Gabriel Fauré’s Pavane, Op. 50; Maurice Ravel’s Trois Poèmes de Stéphane Mallarmé and Pavane pour une infante défunte; and Wolfgang Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in g minor, K. 550.

Chromos began as an idea: that the process of music-making together informs both the quality and meaning of its art. Chromos is a process-based ensemble, passionately dedicated to the creation of musical-meanings for the benefit of its audiences and the community at-large.

Centered on color, inflection, and expressive nuance, Chromos strives to convey the boundary-less, universally human concepts both implicit and explicit in the Western-Classical musical medium. Outward-focused in its intentions, Chromos intends to emotionally enrich the community through performances of both standard and marginalized repertoire that fulfills the orchestra’s desire to create a sensory, visceral, and vital process-based musical culture.

Admission is free; suggested donation is $15.
