Afropop Night Live

The Department of Music at Tufts University is pleased to be this year’s host for Afropop Night Live, Boston’s Afrocentric live music and dance party featuring African, Afro-Latin, and Afro-Caribbean music. The series welcomes everyone to celebrate and unify ther unique and diverse Boston community and enjoy music by the Kotoko Brass Band (Boston/Ghana) and New Nile Orchestra (Vermont/Ethiopia). Afropop Night Live was founded by Christiana Usenza, a former Tufts Ethnomusicology master’s student and Tufts lecturer of Ethnomusicology and African music, in 2015 at Johnny D’s and has rotated venues throughout Boston including The Middle East, Lizard Lounge, and the Lily Pad.

Free; no tickets required. Due to COVID regulations, live audience attendees at Tufts Music events must present a Tufts ID or a Covid Vaccination Card showing that they have been vaccinated and boosted.
