DESCRIPTION:Learn how to create earrings and pendants using recycled aluminum cans and glass beads. This is a great way to be earth friendly\, using materials you may already have at home\, while creating some lovely wearables. All materials will be provided\, and no prior experience is necessary. SUMMARY:Intro to Cyanotypes
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is a hands-on experience in the entire cyanotype process\, from blank paper to finished beautiful blue prints. By using light-sensitive chemicals on paper and fabric\, then placing objects like leaves\, flowers\, lace\, jewelry\, and more\, each student will expose their print to the sun’s UV rays in an outdoor space. SUMMARY:Sew Gay Club
DESCRIPTION:Join The Queer Neighborhood Council (TQNC) for our regular sewing skill share! Whether you’ve never used a sewing machine or you’re an experienced costumer\, let’s craft together in a space centering LGBTQIA+ voices and experiences. \nWhat to expect: \n\nWe’ll kick off the gathering with a brief tutorial on using a sewing machine and follow with open time to practice\, work on projects\, and mingle. Bring that top you’ve been meaning to crop or those pants you’ve been meaning to hem. Bring your favorite piece of clothing that needs to be patched up or altered\, or the elaborate costume you’ve been working on. Or come with nothing at all but excitement to learn a new skill!\nWe will provide basic machines and supplies for attendees. Please note that you may not be guaranteed your own machine to use due to limited supplies\, and you may be partnered with a sewing buddy. (If you have your own machine\, feel free to bring it.)\nA few experienced sewing “guides” will be present to teach and answer questions.\nAll are welcome\, regardless of skill level\, experience\, or identity.\n\nThis program is for adults\, teens\, and children ages 8+. Children below middle school age must be attended by a parent or guardian to help them with their project.  \nYou are encouraged but not required to RSVP for this event! Walk-ins are welcome\, even if you are waitlisted\, though please note that you will likely be sharing a sewing machine if we reach capacity. \nThe library strives to be open and accessible for all. If you need accommodations to attend the program\, please be sure to register. There is a follow-up question that will help us understand how we can include you in our programs.
