DESCRIPTION:Learn to make your own wool yarn using a top-whorl drop spindle! You will spin your own singles with a worsted draft\, join new fiber\, and bracelet ply the singles into a finished yarn. By the end of class\, you will understand the difference between woolen and worsted draft\, how to assess the appropriate level of twist\, how to assess whether a plied yarn is balanced\, and basic troubleshooting. \nThis program is for adults and teens 16+. \nThe library strives to be open and accessible for all. If you need accommodations to attend the program\, please be sure to register. There is a follow-up question that will help us understand how we can include you in our programs. \nDid this program fill up immediately? Fear not! You can ask to be taught to spin at any of Kate’s MakerSpace Drop-In hours on Monday nights\, or Fiber Craft Night on the second Tuesday of each month.
