He has influenced generations of guitarists including Eric Clapton\, Jimi Hendrix\, Jimmy Page\, Keith Richards\, Stevie Ray Vaughan\, Jeff Beck\, Gary Clark Jr. and John Mayer. A Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee\, Guy has received eight Grammy Awards\, a 2015 Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award\, 38 Blues Music Awards (most of any artist)\, the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement\, a Kennedy Center Honor\, and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. The Slave Quarters is the only remaining such structure in the northern United States\, and the Royall House is among the finest colonial-era buildings in New England.
