SUMMARY:Senior Center Mother's Day Tea with Delvena Theatre
DESCRIPTION:The Medford Council on Aging Mother’s Day Tea will feature a Delvena Theatre Company production of “Bon Appetit\, Julia” at the Senior Center.  Set in the late 1980s\, the show will focus on an insight into the beloved chef Julia Child’s life at that time. “Julia” will demonstrate her culinary skills\, with real ingredients\, and encouraging help from the audience. It’s Julia being Julia!. The cast will open up after the show for discussion regarding Julia Child. You will then enjoy tea\, and refreshments. Tickets are $3 (two maximum per person) and will be available at the Senior Center starting on Tuesday\, April 22. This program is made possible by the Medford Arts Council grant. \n  \n

Admission is free\, but due to limited seating at the McGlynn\, ticket reservations are being offered through Eventbrite. Donations may be made through the PayPal link on the ticket portal or at the door. All donations will be used to enable future shows\, including musical theater\, Shakespeare in the Park\, comedy shows\, etc. \nMystic Players Revival is a nonprofit organization created by a group of Medford residents to bring back a community theatre experience to the city similar to the popular Mystic Players\, who performed regularly from the early 1970s until the early 2000s.

DESCRIPTION:The Tufts Department of Theatre\, Dance and Performance Studies presents the second of six performances of “Cabaret\,” a modern-day interpretation of the 1966 Broadway musical at Balch Arena Theatre. Set in the waning years of the Weimar Republic on the verge of Hitler’s catastrophic rise\, “Cabaret” entertains\, engages\, and terrifies. At a volatile moment in our nation and the world\, how will it speak to you? What lessons are there for us about the spread of fascism\, bigotry\, and complacency? Can this iconic musical inspire constructive dialogue and help us find common ground? General admission tickets are $20 through the Tufts online box office. Remaining performances will be at 8 p.m. on March 1\, 7 and 8\, and at 3 p.m. on March 9. \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Mystic Players Revival\, a new group formed to revive community theater in Medford\, invites you to its first formal production\, “The Mystic Cabaret\,” at the McGlynn Middle School Auditorium. This cast of 25 will entertain by performing a variety of Broadway songs from many eras: Meghan Lynn Allen\, Robin Burrage\, Carolyn Caffarelli\, Pat D’Amico\, Emily DiPietro\, Emily Gauthier\, Danielle Herget\, Chinedu Ibiam\, Rachel Kurland\, Samantha Laney\, Roberto Laureles\, Margaret Petrella\, Whitney Polich\, Ademilton Rocha\, Gabrielle Ruban\, Stephen Russo\, Jim Sampson\, Madison Sedlor\, Lyndsi Skewes\, Katie Stratton\, Violet Villanueva\, Ellie Vining\, Cathy Terwilliger and Vanessa Zermeno. \nAdmission is free\, but due to limited seating at the McGlynn\, ticket reservations are being offered through Eventbrite. Donations may be made through the PayPal link on the ticket portal or at the door. All donations will be used to enable future shows\, including musical theater\, Shakespeare in the Park\, comedy shows\, etc. A second performance of “The Mystic Cabaret” will be presented at 7 p.m. on Saturday\, March 1\, also at the McGlynn Auditorium. \nMystic Players Revival is a nonprofit organization created by a group of Medford residents to bring back a community theatre experience to the city similar to the popular Mystic Players\, who performed regularly from the early 1970s until the early 2000s.
