SUMMARY:Soundbath with Hendrik
DESCRIPTION:What’s a Soundbath?\nA soundbath is a performance of sound or music which is intended to relax\, to spiritually heal\, and to create a meditative state. Hendrik will play gong and singing bowls for this program. Often the sounds are long\, deep sustained tones and harmonic resonances that happen higher above droning fundamental tones. The sound serves as a focal point for meditation. Instead of trying to focus on nothing or on the breath\, the participant concentrates on the sound as it changes and develops. \nWhat to Expect:\nPlease bring a yoga mat or meditation cushion with you. Several people have also brought blankets and pillows. You will get the option to sit in a cushioned chair if desired. \nProgram Flow\nThere will be an introductory discussion where participants can check in with the group. Lately this has included discussions about stressors\, anxiety and depression. We will do some breathwork to relax a bit before the actual music. The soundbath will last about 60 minutes. After the bath\, we will also have time to discuss the experience\, check in with our community\, and plan how to support each other.

After seeing firsthand how musicians’ can have a unique impact on environmental campaigns and recognizing the environmental footprint of concerts and festivals\, Lauren Sullivan and her musician husband\, Adam Gardner (guitarist/vocalist for popular indie band Guster\, which formed at Tufts and played its first show in Lewis Hall)\, founded REVERB in 2004 to create a more sustainable\, action-oriented music industry. \nOver 20 years later\, REVERB’s impact has been extraordinary. The organization has raised over $21 million for environmental causes\, eliminated 4.5 million plastic bottles\, neutralized 420\,000 metric tons of CO2E\, “greened” over 350 tours\, and inspired millions of fans to take action—all while pioneering the green music movement. Lauren and Adam are Co-Founders and Co-Executive Directors of REVERB\, which was named Official Music and Public Engagement Partner to the United Nations Environment Programme in 2018. \nThe conversation with Lauren and Adam will be moderated by special guest and fellow Tufts alumnus\, Madeline Weir\, A20\, REVERB’s Director of Impact. SUMMARY:Mosaic: Water Drops Project Part 3
DESCRIPTION:Parts 1 and 2 of this project were completed in early 2025 and now drip down the outside of ACM’s building! In October an amazing mural was completed by artist Andres Duarte\, an Artist In Residence at the Mystic River Watershed Association who spent 2025 working with the organization to help communities connect with and learn about the Mystic River watershed. The mural originally was originally planned to include a small portico on the parking lot side of the building\, but the artist’s lift was not appropriate for him to reach that section\, so he suggested that we make and add more water drops! This workshop is to make those little artworks. Since this is a community project and will both beautify ACM and support efforts to cut back on microplastic waste in water supplies\, the workshop will be free to all! Just come\, make one or two water drops\, and know you contributed to ACM’s beauty. \nPrice: $0\nFor the workshop: This is appropriate for kids about age 6-12\, as well as adults.
