SUMMARY:WuZee: Spring Showcase - Through Many Moons
DESCRIPTION:WuZee is Tufts’ only Chinese fusion dance group which creates a unique style by combining traditional Chinese dance with a variety of contemporary elements. Founded in 2014\, WuZee has committed to displaying the rich diversity of Chinese culture through our annual showcases. Our previous performances – Through the Looking Glass (2017)\, Vermillion (2018)\, Beyond the Waters (2019)\, Tempest (2020/2021)\, Serenity (2022)\, Eclipse (2023)\, In Full Bloom (2024)\, and A -Calligrapher’s Dream – have all been met with university-wide acclaim\, and we are excited to show what we have been working on for 2025! Our theme this year is “Through Many Moons” or “月华流韵 “. Our dances attempt to exemplify elegance and grace\, echoing a dynamic history and culture which unites the past and present.

SUMMARY:Dance Caliente: Swing and Salsa Line-Dances
DESCRIPTION:Together as Dance Caliente\, Raul and Eileen share a compelling magnetism as master teachers\, choreographers\, and performers. Their goal is to impart the joy of partner dancing onto their students. They welcome students of varying ages and experience. In the classroom\, with two teachers they are able to separate group classes into sections according to ability or desire\, while still finding opportunities to give individualized attention. They show a high level of commitment to meeting every student’s needs through their patience and sincerity\, and by creating an atmosphere of fun and energy. Along with their exceptional teaching techniques\, Dance Caliente creates the best possible learning environment. \nThis month\, Dance Caliente will be presenting Swing and Salsa Line-Dances. \nThis program is supported in part by a grant from the Medford Arts Council\, a local commission that is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the City of Medford.

Batten Bland\, creator of SBB Dance Company and former dancer with Pina Bausch\, Bill T. Jones\, and Punch Drunk’s “Sleep No More\,” will share an excerpt of “Look Who’s Coming to Dinner\,” remounted on a cast of seven undergraduate and graduate students.
