Through journaling\, cyanotype\, handmade book structures\, collage\, photography\, and mixed media processes\, participants will explore how memories\, emotions\, and daily observations can be transformed into tactile visual narratives. The class encourages intuitive making\, organization of personal archives\, and creative risk-taking while building a personalized artist journal over the course of six weeks. No prior art experience is required.

SUMMARY:Cracks in the Substrate Book Launch with Vijaya Sundaram
DESCRIPTION:Vijaya Sundaram is an Indian-born\, Medford-based poet\, musician\, artist\, actor\, and a community college professor. She served as Medford’s second Poet Laureate between 2023-2025. She has two published books of poetry (Fractured Lens\, 2023\, Červená Barva Press\, and Reverberations\, 2025\, Ibbetson Street Press). She is a recipient of the Mass Cultural Council Grant for Creative Individuals for 2026 (Poetry). In early October 2026\, Wilderness House Press published a collection of her short stories titled Cracks in the Substrate. She is hosting a book launch party\, and will be reading some selections from this collection of short stories on Monday\, Nov. 2nd\, 2026 from 7:30-8:45 pm.
