DESCRIPTION:Palm Press Bookstore in Medford Square presents a talk with Drew Leventhal and Owen McCarter of Valley Books. Started in 2023 by Leventhal\, Valley Books is a new publishing imprint specializing in small run\, handmade publications. “The Three-Eyed Fish” by Owen McCarter\, a stunning book of photogravure prints\, is the most recent publication. The book follows McCarter’s journey “along the Housatonic River in Western Massachusetts and a search for the pollution caused by a General Electric superfund site at the river’s source.” Drew and Owen will discuss the photographs\, the design and production of the book\, and more. A Q&A will follow. There will also be copies for purchase of the two other Valley Books titles\, “Go to the Land and I Will Show You” by Alana Perino and “Asterisms” by Leventhal. \nPalm Press Bookstore features more than 1\,000 used photobooks curated from the collection of owner Gus Kayafas\, as well as a selection of new books from an expanding list of publishers such as Stanley/Barker\, MACK\, Steidl\, Eakins Press\, MoMA and more.

Like last year\, all activities will be centralized in a pedestrian-only area from the Rose Sloane Garden (in front of Metro Credit Union)\, down Riverside Avenue to River Street and Riverside Plaza. Come enjoy live music by Three At Home and The Larry Terry Project\, a musical theater revue by Mystic Players Revival\, martial arts demos\, food vendors\, and a Medford Brewing Co. beer garden.
