DESCRIPTION:Arts Collaborative Medford presents its bi-weekly Live Figure Drawing Session\, held every other Tuesday evening at the community arts center. These are in-person\, non-instructor led sessions with a nude or lightly clothed model striking a mixture of short and long poses — starting at one minute and working up to a 15- or 20-minute pose. A studio monitor will be present to assist the model and participants. Attendees should bring their own materials. ACM will have some spare pencils\, pads\, and surfaces on hand. Cost is $15. SUMMARY:Buddy Guy: Damn Right Encore
DESCRIPTION:If you missed the legendary Chicago blues guitarist and singer Buddy Guy’s stop at Chevalier Theatre last May on his Damn Right Farewell Tour\, you’re in luck: Guy is returning to Medford on his Damn Right Encore Tour. Guy\, 88\, is a pioneer of Chicago’s fabled West Side sound\, and a living link to the city’s halcyon days of electric blues. He has influenced generations of guitarists including Eric Clapton\, Jimi Hendrix\, Jimmy Page\, Keith Richards\, Stevie Ray Vaughan\, Jeff Beck\, Gary Clark Jr. and John Mayer. A Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee\, Guy has received eight Grammy Awards\, a 2015 Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award\, 38 Blues Music Awards (most of any artist)\, the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement\, a Kennedy Center Honor\, and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. Opening will be Eric Gales\, the blues rock guitarist also known as Raw Dawg. \nTickets are $50 to $125 through the Chevalier Theatre website/Ticketmaster. To avoid online ordering fees\, purchase tickets at the Chevalier Theatre Box Office\, which is open on Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m.\, as well as two hours before every Chevalier Theatre show. \n
